I am  Marie Rattigan, a multimedia journalist obtaining a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida A&M University. I started my college career writing and publishing articles with the award-winning university newspaper “The Famuan”. I write hard news that can relate with community events, opinion and policy pieces that bring attention to important issues.

I work with the award-winning FAMU TV News 20 at Five, which airs daily reaching over 80,000 households in the North Florida and South Georgia region via Comcast cable. My role is being a server operator and photojournalist. Also, I actively pitch stories weekly to my producer. I write scripts, edit footage, and use ENPS to manage content for the show’s newscast.

Sirius XM Channel 142 HBCU show “FAMU NOW” and  90.FM the flava station are other outlets which I am apart of, I take the role of a radio personality . My contributions include writing ,  producing , and conducting interviews on various topics.

I inspire to become a multimedia journalist. It’s a dream of mine to work in Washington D.C. I’d eventually like to work in the White House. My upbeat personality allows me to tackle different genres of news including entertainment. Being from South Florida I understand economically disparaged neighborhoods, drug activity and gentrification. I want to be able to highlight and showcase these issues and let people’s stories be heard.
